We are new to the area and have been to flippers twice now. We have absolutely no complaints. I followed yelps advice and got the breadsticks as an appetizer..so good! Definitely worth the calories. The pizzas are great as well. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. William did a great job serving us. We will be back!

Flippers did away with their extra large pizza. That is what we get to feed our family. When we called to place an order, they said they no longer have extra large. They said two mediums is the same and the price for those will be $30 for both. That's $10 more dollars than what the extra large was! We won't be ordering Flippers anymore.

Not impressed. Average pizza (if I had a nickel every time I've said that about Florida pizza) which was pretty bland and they put the pepperoni underneath the cheese which I hate because it doesn't get crispy. Cheese was average and the crust was really doughy. My gf got the chicken alfredo and she wasn't impressed with that either. Said it was bland and undercooked. She had to spice it up herself. $33 for a large pizza and chicken alfredo should make it an outstanding meal, but it's not worth the price. Won't be back.

I like their big flavors. I don't like their big prices. Pasta portions are dainty for what they charge. Wings are very good. Pizzas are delicious but overpriced. Service often feels chaotic and confused. They do deliver, however, they never showed up one time, and never really made it right with a coupon or even a convincing apology. For the dough I always seem to drop in here, I'd much rather have a nice, quiet sit-down dinner in a less frantic, local bistro. Dinner for 2 always seems to run me around $50. It's hard to justify that for this pizza experience.

When this place first opened I ordered delivery and it was amazing. Great ingredients, huge pie. The next time I ordered from them it was far less impressive, o erly cheesy. I tried to give them another chance but by then the place was run over by teenagers. The girl taking my order couldnt understand tge road I lived on (its only a few blocks away). She interrupted me to flirt with a young man who worked there, then my call was disconnected. Ive been pretty disenchanted with them since. Its fairly pricey too. Id like to try it again but go inside and try the pasta. Maybe with low expectations I wont be disappointed again.

The place looks and smell amazing. But it was off on a few spots. First we ordered the chopped salad, which was exactly half of those things. It hadgood enough flavor and ample ingredients, but it was not a chopped salad. By definition a chopped salad must be chopped. Next was the pie. It was like a microcosm of the whole experience. It looked and smelled great, but was an undercooked mess. Also under the pie was a paper doily or something. Under the pie and above the pan. Whats up with that. Anyway I associate that with a crummy and impatient pizza cook. So to sum it up they need to chop their salad and cook the pie longer while leaving out the doily.

Rookies! Owners were walking around and I gotta say great sport they are. I like the ambience, and my food is awesome! Appetizer is meat ball and pizza is 4 star. Loved it I sat by a service dog , she is a hero, her name is Peyton! Go Go Peyton! We met her owners, a fellow foodie, had a great conversation. And I stared at there Pizza with Alfredo sauce. Next time around gotta try wit sausage and mushroom.

I ordered a large 5 topping pizza from this restaurant for delivery. Attempted to order online but the site wasn't working. I did notice there were no prices listed for pizza which struck me odd. I called the store and ordered and didn't pay attention to the clerk when he stated the price. The pizza arrived and it was very small, equivalent to a small pizza at most restaurants. I told the driver I ordered a large and was told that was their large size. He then handed me the credit card statement and I was aghast. The price was $27.00. I knew I had been had and paid the price plus tip and got a mediocre pizza that had nothing special about it. I usually order from another shop which is not a chain and receive a HUGE 18" pizza for $16 and change. I will go back to ordering from my favorite shop and would not recommend that anyone order a pizza from Flippers unless you have a lot of money to waste.

Fantastic pizza! All delicious and fresh. I had the salsicca rustica and had to go by immediately after I had eaten it so my boyfriend could have some. The only thing I'd say is order in so you get a hot press pizza- also makes it less soggy. Salads are wonderful. I had Greek chopped and Tuscan chicken chopped. Both were so good! And dressing tasted great.

Please, do not go here. Absolutely terrible service. I was told St Pete dining is great, regardless of the time of day, but I do believe that we were approached by the staff a maximum of 3 times in our two hour dining experience. They even went as far as to charge all of our bills on ONE card... I really do not understand how that is possible... Again, I encourage you to please find a different dining establishment if you wish to truly enjoy your meal!

I wasn't expecting to remember this pizza place. The inside is kind of plain and diner like. However, the menu is fairly extensive. The cheese bread is ridiculously good and they go hard on the cheese. The pizza was unexpectedly tasty. Staff was unfriendly the time i was there.

The staff was amazingly friendly and attentive. The meatballs were fantastic and the pizza was perfect. Will definitely be back to try more!

First time eating here. The food was fantastic. Have the MyPie! Perfect size for 1-2 people. Casual atmosphere, comfortable seating, not much parking available but the food makes up for it. Good service. (The mozzarella is very tasty!)

I've been to Italy thee times and experienced the taste of real Italian food. Flippers pizza is the closest comparable pizza that I've found in the states. It's also nice that you can order wine and beer with your pizza. Go to Flippers and enjoy!

  • Darlene W.

Brick oven pizza with a variety of pizza options. Staff are knowledgeable about their products. The crust is wonderful! Decent beer and wine list. Drink prices or specials would enhance the experience.

It is hard to find parking there, but worth the effort. Awesome food, spotty service. I've found above average food here. The servers are unprofessional, mostly younger women who have no clue to what good service is. If the service improves, it would be a 5 star experience.

Ordered a large Buffalo pie for $20 wasn't worth the price . The pizza is good and the crust is soft but there wasn't enough buffalo sauce . I felt like I was eating just melted cheese with ranch. The service needs to be more attentive in regards to making sure we the customer have adequate napkins and filled up drinks . I would order again though .

My husband and I stopped into Flipper's last night to sample there pizza. We just moved down to the area from Long Island NY and we are vey familiar with "NY PIZZA". We ordered the cheese bread and medium size pepperoni pizza. We were pleasantly surprised with both items. The crust was not too dense and very fresh. As soon as we sat down we were greeted by "Grant" who was extremely friendly and offered many suggestions being that we we first timers at Flipper's. They also have happy hour specials on wine, and craft beers. It truly was an enjoyable experience!! Thanks again Grant!!

I am trying them out for the "almost" first time. The place where I work gave us a coupon for a personal pizza and I am like two months behind in bringing it in to receive my free pizza. I believe that I was hesitant to do so because the coupon required that you dine in and I did not se to want to travel way cross town to get a free pizza. I am here today because I was craving pizza and I was going to pay for one then I remembered that I had the coupon so here I am. One of my coworkers brought back his pizza and he gave it to me and I found it to be enjoyable in every sense. Coming back to the now, I was told to sit anywhere I wanted to and I was quickly brought out a beer and wine menu and a regular menu. I looked through the beer menu and saw hat they had lots of craft beers in the bottle and on tap. None for me at the time so I chose a sweet tea, it was a no go because they had to brew some more so I was offered a choice of Pepsi products instead. Root beer it was, the pizza I ordered came a bit later and it came on its on serving platter and a pizza server also. The pizza was too hot at first, I picked up the first piece and all my toppings slid off, but no biggie, it was great and the crust was moist and edible. Worth a visit if you're in the area and the pizza can be seen as it is made in front of you.

Why 4 stars? Because it's greasy but it does the job. --- --- --- Not that anyone ever looks for "healthy" in this type of meal, but if you hate greasiness, avoid the breadsticks. If you love tastiness, order a lot of breadsticks. They have a few creative pizzas here, and I enjoyed everything I tasted. I'd go 3.5 stars here if fractions were kosher. But they're not, dammit. They're not.

Have always had great service. The breadsticks are phenomenal!! I could eat them all day, every day!! Love the brick oven blanco pizza. They are also involved in the community and are supporters of the School System. It's definitely one of my favorite pizzerias!

  • Carol B.

We have only ordered pizza there. It's a little pricey but well worth paying extra for the quality of pie that you get. There are pizzerias all over the place here. We've tried them all and this is our favorite.

We loved Flippers. The pizzas are excellent. They have a nice variety of craft beers. The craft beers are local craft beers. We tried the boneless buffalo chicken wings and they were disgusting. They tasted like Tysons chicken nuggets with buffalo sauce thrown onto them. We really enjoyed the individualized my pies. They have a great lunch special where you get a my pie and a soda for $5.99. We would recommend flippers pizza because the pizza was excellent. We really like the variety of toppings that they had available to put on the my pie pizzas. They have specials each night of the week, so check the website for the nightly specials. The restaurant is very clean, the beers are very cold, the sodas get refilled frequently, and the pizzas were served hot and fresh.

Overall, I like Flippers. Their pizzas are good. Their prices are a little inflated for what you get. Toppings could be heavier but the flavors are good. LOVE their breadsticks. Every time we order, we order online for delivery. The drivers are always polite and friendly. The last time we ordered, the store lost our order. My husband called to see where it was, and they'd never received it. They were kind enough to rush our order through and didn't charge us. I thought that was really nice and above and beyond for customer service. If they could drop the price on their pizzas a few bucks, I think we would order way more often.

  • Christian L.

Meh. Pizza took 2 hours to deliver and wasn't GREAT. Got a call after the first hour asking if we received our pizza yet? No. Ok, I think its coming out of the oven now... think it was made incorrectly. We will be refunding your order on your card. Driver came to door with hand full of receipts. Didnt look at them, tipped the driver, and ate a MEDIOCRE pizza. Don't bother. Should've just ordered from Westshore.

I work crazy hours and they're open until midnight with happy, cheerful staff waiting to give you a smile and a warm meal... And maybe have a beer sitting out on the front patio watching the cars go by off 4th St N. :) The prosciutto pizza with the arugula and pine nuts on regular crust is BOMB. Only neg would be the pizzas can get greasy sometimes and I'm not sure why. Otherwise- I Highly Recommend.

Food is good but be prepared to wait... We've eaten here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. Both times the food took a long time to come out and the place wasn't even full of customers. For dinner I don't mind waiting a little while but for lunch, waiting 20 plus minutes for a sandwich won't cut it. The sandwich was good but the log wait just soured the taste a bit. I'd consider takeout but pass on the dine in experience unless you're not real hungry and don't have anything else to do.

After two and a half years, I have finally found my pizza home!! When I moved to the Bay Area in July 2011, my mission was to find great pizza and great Chinese. Still looking for the great Chinese. Flippers pizza has yet to disappoint in the handful of times I've been here. The pizza always has the freshest tasting ingredients and crust. The salads are great, too. For me, the real test of a great pizza is if it's great cold and left over the next morning. Flippers is great cold and left over!!

WTF?????? This place is a cunundrum. It looks really nice. There's a lot of granite and fancy lighting and cordial staff waiting to help you (although some of them are a little clueless). And the place has a great reputation in Orlando, etc. But the pizza is TERRIBLE. I am telling you right now, I could not really tell the difference between this pizza and Papa John's. OK, well I am exaggerating, Flippers pizza is better than Papa John's, BUT NOT BY MUCH. Read through all the other Yelp reviews and see how many people say the pizza LOOKS good, but actually tastes like crap. It's true. The whole place is a big bait-n-switch: Fancy restaurant, signs about fresh ingredients, but the pizza is not much better than mainstream delivery pizza. I ordered a pizza (thin style) with pepperoni, onion and sausage. It was soggy (the bottom crust), the pizza sauce was extremely bitter (sounds like a Papa John's pizza so far!!), the sausage was good, the cheese tasted weird (again read the other reviews complaining about the cheese they use) and I only ate a couple of slices and then threw it out. 20 bucks, bye-bye. I DO recommend the breadsticks. Those breadsticks may be the only thing these people know how to do right. There are way too many great pizza places in Tampa Bay for this place to survive. Then again, this place is in a great location in need of a pizza joint. We shall see.

Ordered traditional crust w pepperoni. The crust was great, my order on time and the order was correct. I will be back.

LOVE this place. And here's why: 1) Choice: Enough toppings to choose from that you could eat there for a year and never have the same pie. 2) Service: Excellent customer service-- on their soft opening, they had delivery issues. Next day they sent everyone who had ordered that night a gift cert. as a Thank You. Classy! 3) THE PIZZA: Toasty, crunchy crust that's just soft enough on top, excellent toppings and fabulous customer service. SOLD. Do yourself a favor and order a smoked bacon/caramelized onion traditional crust pizza. You're welcome.

Had pizza, breadsticks, and a few pints of local brew. Hit the spot. We definitely will return. This isn't the best pizza I've ever had, but it's legit. Service was fast and friendly as well.

I happened to be passing this place and of course I was in the mood for PIZZA! I didn't know this place was here. So past 11pm in St Pete I wasn't expecting much. They are actually open till midnight every night which is a rarity to have this good of a pizzeria open this late. As anyone who follows or has read my countless pizza reviews , I can be a bit brutal when it comes to something as simplistic as pizza. So I ventured in and was greeted by a extremely friendly staff member. The menu is littered with pizza concoctions that would satisfy anyone's imagination. I as you know prefer a more purist approach most of the time so I wanted to taste the pizza on its merits without added toppings. I chose the 14" traditional which looked as purist as possible. The atmosphere is very comfy and inviting , I originally planned to take out but after sitting there while my pizza was being made I decided to eat in instead. After about my personal pizza arrived and from first impressions , it looked very good and most of all , it smelled VG! I sprinkled some parmesan and some red pepper and took a bite. Wow , I was very impressed a very good pizza reminiscent of what I am accustomed to back home and having access to it past 11pm is a feat in itself in this region. Visually it looked very similar to a traditional NY pizza and that is usually a good sign and it tasted even better. The foundation was stable but also pliable to fold in the very good balance of ample cheese distributed evenly, accompanied by good balance of acid and sweetness sauce. My only small complaint was it was just a tad overly sweet but that is subjective to personal preference. The crust was moist , airy and had good crunchiness to it. I wish I had requested it to be just a lil more well done but overall I was very impressed with all aspects of this very simple pizza. My server was extremely friendly , welcoming and attentive. Probably in my top 5 best pizza I have had so far in the St Petersburg area. Yes, I was that impressed with it . I am looking forward to returning and trying a different variation. Heads Up: There is parking in the rear with rear and front entrances.

My wife and I have been here twice so far, once for dine in and the other for takeout. The service during our dine in experience was a little slow, but the food was great. Definitely order the breadsticks! They're soaked in a delicious mixture of garlic, parmesan, and butter. We have not tried the thin crust yet, but the traditional crust is very tasty. Not to die for tasty, but a very solid pizza.

  • Lyndsay B.

Disappointing. Though the pizza on the menu sounds amazing, it definitely is not! The crust was super-thick and took up nearly half the slice of pizza. The arugula on my arugula and prosciutto pizza was wilted and there was no lemon juice or olive oil to speak of. The mozzarella tasted so unpleasant I couldn't even eat it. Our ceasar salads consisted of yellow lettuce and mostly the crisp/hard white part of the lettuce and not the leafy greens. When we picked the pizza up multiple employees ignored us and the guy who finally helped us was confused and almost charged us twice (not realizing we pre-paid online when we ordered). It's a shame that can't think of a single positive thing to say about this place. I really wanted to like it (the menu looks soooo promising), but we won't be back.

I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars, none the less, this is the best pizza in the downtown area. Amazing sauce, awesome breadsticks, great calzones, and so-so wings. That's why not full five stars. This is going to be the new pizza place from now on. They're on the expensive side, but it is sooooo worth it. Sometimes I skip the pizza and just get an app of meatballs and breadsticks. I've lived in both NY and Chicago, and while Flippers isn't in either style, it stands up to both with the great ingredients and unique pies.

Last night my friend & me were drunkenly watching all the Jeopardy episodes on her DVR when late at night we came to the sudden realization that we were friggin' starving. Being immobilized due to said drunkness I accessed this lovely Yelp website and researched, shortly later we decided to take a shot on this "Flippers" establishment. They did not disappoint. They must drive Lamborghini's or the Batmobile or somethin cause the delivery was crazy fast. We both rocked their flatbreads, and they were rad. I had the chicken something, and she had the steak. Overall, I sense I will be enlisting Flippers services multiple times in the future. 5 STARS!

  • Clocker B.

The pizza was delicious. We got a 16in regular crust with sweet sausage and roasted peppers. The dough was fresh, the ingredients tasty. My only issue is the price. I'm not usually someone who complains about price. I believe you get what you pay for most of the time. But my 2 ingredient, 16inch pizza cost me $19.97. I picked it up. Most places around here get $17. Flippers was better than all of them, but like I said, how high are they going to drive the price of pizza up? $20 for a 2 item, pickup is pushing the boundaries.

Have you heard the one about the two Asian girls and the three white dudes that got drunk and ate delicious pizza together. Well now you have eat here ASAP and on a side note if possible bring Asians.

The breadsticks were great. The pizza was OK, the cheese tasted kind of cheap. Everything else was pretty good- we also got a salad and that was freshly prepared and it tasted yummy!
